Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a suitcase robbery where a believed to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.

This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.

This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
